Heyo! So as I am sure all of you can tell by the title, this is my starting out blog. I am indeed a newly announced Vegetarian starting this very day! Now I'm not going to force my opinion on anyone and I'm not saying they have to go by what I say. But I do want to get my opinions across at least once and why I decided to become a Vegetarian.
I do not believe it is wrong in a sense to eat meat. But what I do believe to be wrong is the way we treat the animals that were put under our care. I believe we have a duty as human beings to treat animals with kindness, respect and love.
We are doing so poorly with the way we treat these animals. From the time they are born to the time of their death it's nothing but a living hell for them. And the majority of us have grown accustomed to that and it's pretty disgusting. Do not tell me that when you eat a Big Mac at McDonalds the thought that comes to your head is "This animal must have had such a great life before. this." No. No one thinks or believes that. And if they try to then they're lying to themselves.
I do not believe for a second that the world is just completely oblivious to how these animals are treated. We all know what is going on and it's sad the number of people that are actually willing to put in the effort to help these animals. It shouldn't just be a set group that's helping. Because it shouldn't even be happening! But if I can be apart of that group that stands up for these animals then I want to be.
Now that is actually one of two reasons I am now a vegetarian. The second is also for nutritional value. All of the added hormones and chemicals that are put into these animals until their death is just unfathomable. Because not only does it do so much damage to the animals but also what sort of damage is that doing to my own body? I don't know what they're feeding these animals so why would I want to feed that to myself? And it also intertwines with the animal cruelty reasoning but I have already gone over that.
I understand that our plants are also chemically altered and that still isn't good for us. But at least I know that I wasn't a part of harming something living, breathing and with a beating heart that deserves more than they are given. And being an animal lover all my life, I could only take so much.
And those are my opinions. (Notice that's underlined because these are in no way to attempt to force anyone to do anything but just my own personal thoughts) but I'm excited to be apart of this community and hopefully to be able to make a difference! Even if it's just a small one at a time. I appreciate anyone who took the time to actually read this through to the end because let's be honest this was a bunch of rambling. I promise though my future posts will be a bit more uplifting! Ahaha, I'm not usually so serious. Look forward to talking to all of you and any tips or advice for a noob like myself is always welcome!
