Horse Riding is NOT Vegan

Horse Riding is NOT Vegan

Horse riding is a form of exploitation. Humans horse back ride for their pleasure, not for the horses. Animal exploitation isn't vegan, no matter how 'happy' you claim the animal to be. Horses have to be broken in to be ridden, making it obvious they weren't intended to be ridden in the first place. Look after a horse, fine, but don't ride it, there's no need. No horse needs to be ridden. Horses are social animals, that belong with other horses in a large space so they can gallop, etc, and do herding behaviour. They don't belong underneath a silly homosapien. Saying a horse needs to be ridden for exercise is a common excuse by horse riders who keep their horses cooped up in stables....or give the horses very little pasture time. If you can't afford enough space for horses to exercise adequately with other horses then you shouldn't be having horses in the first place. Simply put, horse riding is using an animal for personal pleasure. It is putting a human before an animal. Something that is wrong. Nobody needs to ride horses, so why do so? This might help people understand: http://veganfaq.blogspot.com/2007/10/is-horseback-riding-vegan.html And that's not even mentioning races, the over-breeding of horses, etc etc etc. I'm not religious but here's a religious perspective on it: http://www.all-creatures.org/discuss/horse-sa.html

Honey is NOT Vegan

Honey is NOT Vegan

If you eat honey and you're claim to be vegan, you're WRONG. Vegans do not eat any animal product, period.

ethical wares mailorder

ethical wares mailorder

ethical WARES is a Vegan owned and run mail order company. We currently stock over 600 Vegan products and this is set to grow even further in the future. As well as promoting Veganism we try to play a small part in working towards a fairer and more compassionate world for all its inhabitants, animal and non animal. We source as many of our products as we can from European countries; where at least some semblance of democracy and independent Trades Unions encourage at least a minimum of fairness in working conditions. For products that come from outside of Europe we look for Fair Trade accreditation where possible. Our support for a Free Tibet means that no Chinese goods will be stocked on our site and we have our Tibet Shop section to showcase Tibetan incense and handicrafts. The income from ethical WARES pays for the upkeep of the 50 or so rescued animals living here with us in West Wales. The sheep, pigs, goats, horses, cats, dogs, rabbits and of course Aunt Dotty the cow, are all dependent on ethical WARES continuing as it has done for the last 16 years or so to ensure their future needs are catered for. If the phone isn't always answered during the day it may because we are outside dealing with a visit from the vet, farrier, horse dentist or some emergency that has cropped up. Our great love of music meant we set up the Music For A Better World section which only features music from animal friendly musicians. This has expanded to our Four Dogs Music site which features a wider range of music.

In this way we undermine the power o the non veg things and at the same time chip away at the nonsensical notion that livin a vegan lifestyle be difficult in some way. Thus National Sausage Week becomes National Vegan Sausage Week, and heroes such as "something Fishy" make deep fried vegan mars bars!
