Ornagh, just like raising all kids, the key is a well-planned diet. You can get free resources, and personal advice from The Vegan Society:
http://www.vegansociety.com/people/lifestyle/families/parenting/vegan_children/
http://www.vegansociety.com/contact/
They publish a book about this by a registered dietician, Sandra Hood too, Feeding your Vegan Infant with Confidence:

Hi I am just wondering does anyone have advice re raising kids vegetarian. I think it is recommended to keep them on formula for as long as possible. Does anyone have any advice? I have a very healthy ( but skinny!) 2 year old and another one on the way. My son is never sick so I presume I'm doing ok? We try to cover all food groups per meal. Really I think most western diets have too much protein, which makes us worried. Im am veg for the last 12 years Thanks, any advice welcome!

Hi - can you tell me how much is it to become a member of the Vegetarian Society? What are the benefits? Thanks!
