No problem :-) Thats why we started doing samples, because all the foods are different and if you get a big bag and you picked the one your dog doesn't like you will have it for ages! But that said, I can only think of a handful of occasions over 6 years where a dog didn't scoff what they were given. Its more useful to try a small bag though if you have a dog with a suspected meat allergy or sensitivity to wheat for example, where a trial over two or three weeks may be needed to see if it alleviates the symptoms (sometimes it only takes days to see a difference). Just give us a shout when you're ready :-)
Thanks Tofuman. I was looking at the VeggiePets site and will be ordering very soon. (Just waiting to run down the supplies we currently have a little. A 15 kilo bag of dog food lasts awhile for us!)
Hi - Give us a call at VeggiePets. Samples (50-100g) are good for you to have a closer looka nd to see if your dog or cat likes them. But it is best to trial real feeding with 2kg bag of food, as that doesn't last too long and you can see if your dog has any adverse reactions without committing to a big bag.
Generally I would suggest changing the food over 3-5 days... increasing the veggie food and decreasing the old food. People often want to change overnight, but a sudden change can giove your dog or cat the runs! Also they may go on a food strike :-) Many animals are quite habitual so let them get used to it gradually.
Many vets know nothing about the products out there - some will think 'Vegan Dog Food' means stuffed aubergines or nut roasts - or whatever they imagine you eat! Its not about meat vs. veg though it is all about nutrition... and nutritionally speaking you can do it AND dogs do enjoy the food.
VeggiePets has been around since 2003 and so has experience of dogs that have been veggie throughout their lives... and do very well on it.

Thanks for this video, Herbivore Cat, it was really interesting. I really want to switch my dog and cats to a vegan diet. I will soon be ordering samples from veggie pets and hopefully when our current food runs low, I will be ordering new food for them. I am intending to mix small amounts into the Burns kibble that they are all on now and make the switch slowly for the sake of their digestive systems. Our dog is due her annual vet visit in February, so I will discuss it then with the vet. Fingers crossed that I will get a supportive response.
