Intensive farming happens to the majority of species in the farming industry. Jamie Oliver says:
“three million hens are kept in battery cages in the UK and the egg industry kills another three million male chicks just because they can't lay eggs.”
Chickens
Three quarters of the worlds about 5.6 billion egg laying hens are bred in battery cages. Some may think that they are only raised for our food, but these cages are so small that the birds cannot stretch their wings, there are no nests for them to lay their eggs in, and sometimes, their bones just snap through lack of exercise and movement.

If you have a moment free, imagine you are not free. Imagine you’re someone else’s property, as were your parents, and their parents, and their parents before them. That makes you a slave, by anyone’s definition of the term...

I recently happened across a blog post discussing the so-called “lucky impala” photographs. You may have seen them around the net; they tell the heartwarming story of how, instead of eating the baby antelope they have just captured, three young cheetahs decide to play with their prey before releasing him, unmolested...

Interviews with vegan Alex of Silver Snakes, vegan Michael of Patrick Stump's band, veggie Andii of Ghostfire, veggie Nomi of The Dogbones and vegan Jhon of Mike TV who was on Come Dine With Me.
Recommendations of Lush's Ultrabalm & Seanik & Godiva Shampoo Bars (well, all of Lush's shampoo bars really), K.I. Hope's Hector book, Happy Kitchen's Brownies, Kara's dairy free milk... and more.

I have to admit, I used to be a zoologist. Now, I am not ashamed of zoology per se; it’s a fine subject, I enjoyed studying it very much, and believe I was pretty good at it, too. What disturbs me about the scientific study of animals, is what we had to do to animals to study them.

MuLondon announces that all its exclusive, naturally moisturising skincare products are officially 100% vegan and registered by The Vegan Society.
Committing to a vegan lifestyle is usually a conscious choice for people who do not wish to exploit animals for food, clothing or cosmetics. This means that vegans do not eat animal products, do not wear clothes or accessories made from leather, wool or fur, and do not use cosmetic products with ingredients derived from the animal kingdom.
