This just in on behalf of the splendid Hillfields Animal Sanctuary in Bromsgrove, West Midlands.
URGENT APPEAL - the recent harsh & freezing weather conditions has meant that the feed & bedding costs have increased enormously. The sanctuary funds are dangerously low, so please consider whether you are able to make a donation now to help secure the animals future, it really is such a worrying time for owner Lyn Tudor

We have some 40 animals living their lives out with us here at ew. The water supply has frozen to the barns so having to carry buckets of water down the yard over an iced track is a particular challenge in itself.
So with what we are coping with in this weather for our small percentage of animals, please spare a thought for the sanctuaries who have 100’s of animals. Any assistance you can give them I am sure will be well received.

So this is goodbye to the old year and hello to 2010. Let's hope it could be full of peace, compassion and caring for all with 2 & 4 legs, but somehow with all the tragedy in the world...
Thank you to one and all for showing support for ew; we do really appreciate it.

A disrupted morning here at ew; unwanted intrusion with the ‘hunt', men with guns walking over our land, and hounds in the distance.
Exchanges passed between us and them whilst we ‘politely' suggested they might like to leave...
All our animals (goats, sheep, horses & even Aunt Dotty the cow ) spooked.
Only hope any foxes around did get away as we could do nothing about them being on neighbouring land.
So it is just as well our wonderful government have banned hunting, and hunting with dogs……!

For those of you still undecided about what to do this coming Sunday (29 November); don't miss the Christmas Fayre at Hillfields Animal Sanctuary, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
Plenty to do, eat, buy and meet the animals as well, a truly good day out.

For any of you on Facebook and who have not already seen OR joined this group; it is a very sad one, as it highlights the cruelty a certain nation inflicts on animals, but needs to be ‘put out' into the wider world.

A site worth visit and putting your paw print onto the petition, as it is possible the political landscape could be changing so voices need to be heard now.
To quote their mission:
"Polls reveal that over 75% of the public do not support a repeal of the hunting act. We believe this is an accurate reflection of a society that does not want to see a return to their cruel and barbaric past.
Now we need to show MPs that real people are behind these numbers. We need to prove that this issue is NOT: the will of one political party, a class war, town vs. country, or an erosion of human rights. It is simply about whether we as human beings agree or disagree with inflicting prolonged and unnecessary pain and suffering on animals for fun."
